KYC completion is a common challenge in the iGaming industry. Players register to explore games and start playing, while identity verification asks them to stop, provide personal information, and upload documents.
Even when players understand why verification is needed, they may postpone it. The effort is immediate, while the benefit can feel distant. For operators, this means unfinished onboarding and repeated reminders to complete the same step.
A visible reward can give players another reason to finish.
With Horse of Fortune, you can target unverified players with a KYC mission in the Wheel of Fortune widget. The wheel makes the available rewards visible and gives players something to anticipate.
Choose required or informational messaging
The KYC message has two modes:
- Required: complete KYC to unlock a spin.
- Informational: dismiss the reminder and spin immediately.
The informational option keeps verification visible without interrupting the player’s access to the wheel.
Example: a verification mission for new accounts
This is an illustrative campaign setup. Start with eligible registered players who have made fewer than two deposits and have not passed KYC. Show that segment a branded wheel with a clear verification message and visible reward options.
In required mode, the player completes verification through the operator's existing process. The operator's backend reports the approved verification status to Horse of Fortune; when the configured condition is satisfied, the wheel unlocks. A click on the verification link alone should not be treated as completed KYC.
In informational mode, the player can dismiss the reminder and access the wheel. This changes the promotional experience only: the operator's verification decisions, account restrictions, and eligibility rules continue to apply.
Measure completed verification
Define the result before launching: approved KYC completions divided by eligible unverified accounts assigned to the campaign during a fixed observation window. Compare that rate with a control group receiving the existing onboarding experience, using stable account assignment.
Use mission views and completed interactions to understand the journey, then confirm verification outcomes in the operator's system. Keep reward cost, support requests, and overlapping onboarding messages in the review. When reporting results, include group sizes, dates, baseline rates, and whether any uplift is relative or a percentage-point difference.
